Shallow Pot has been awarded the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2024.
Judges' Comments
Banko-yaki accounts for 80% of the domestic Donabe(A pot made of ceramics) production share. This heat-resistant ceramic flatware was inspired by the idea of ceramic plate cooking, and is the ambitious work of this long-established pottery. The pottery's attempt to solve the problems posed by the production of Donabe, the demand for which is concentrated in the wintertime, showed courage, one of the themes of this year's exhibition. The fact that the design, which looks simple at first glance but is difficult to manufacture, was completed by utilizing the many years of manufacturing experience, clay and glaze selection skills, and firing techniques, was also highly evaluated. Since this is a new cooking tool, it is necessary to offer and educate people about it in their daily lives when selling it. We look forward to the strong progress that will be made in the future, including activities to promote the product so that it will become a new earthenware pot with a long life span.
